FUNDRAISING
Compassionate Community Support
Busselton Hospice Care Inc (BHCI) began life as a non-government, non-profit, registered charity in 1989. Fast-forward to today, we now partner with the WA Country Health Service to support the Hospice Unit within the Busselton Health Campus and have diversified into providing support in ageing, dying, death and bereavement.
Our team, currently consisting of approximately 100 trained volunteers, for more than 20 years, have provided emotional and social support to clients at the end of life, and walk alongside family members and carers through their bereavement journey. We rely entirely on community donations to sustain our operations. In return, our programs are provided free of charge, with no limits on use.
Fundraising opportunities vary from annual charity golf days, gala and community events. Talented community members and supporters also donate their beautifully handcrafted items for us to sell to raise the funds that assist with the organisation’s operational costs.
Money raised through fundraising activities are 100% directed to our ongoing volunteer support services within the Busselton Health Campus Hospice Unit, towards our Bereavement Support, Complementary Therapy, Home Visiting and Carer Education programs offered at the Geographe Bay Centre, as well as our community Outreach services and workshops.
We are so very grateful for any contribution made that helps us to continue supporting a life lived well, through dying, death and bereavement. Everyone matters – no one needs to die or grieve alone.
